This thing works great so far. Have it mounted on a 10mm and it holds it’s zero well. I really like the larger sight picture and the rechargeable hood is amazing. I have seen some complaints about a glare at the top of the window, but I don’t get any of that. Pretty clear, maybe a bit of a red tint. But for the money, works great.

  2. JINDRA A GAVRIL

The Optic itself is quality made (MOA) is bright and clear and glass tent and clarity is decent in appearance the optic also has a tendency to move a bit off center after 100+ rounds. While the unique charging ability in the optic market is relatively new. Depending on the adapter plate used charging becomes an issue with this model optic such as with the (Calculated Kinetics Mos RMR) Dogtag Optic Plate for glock 45 mos. The charging cuff will not fit correctly and would require the user to remove the entire optic to charge it. One other thing to touch on is the instant on feature as most law enforcement/Security officers are constantly in motion as are most individuals who carry. Instant on seems to be a needless feature considering that your optic will always be on and not really saving any power based on the instant on sensitivity and the time in which it takes to turn off. If it was being used specifically on a firearm for the range and that is often stored when not in use then this feature would make more sense for this instant on future to work at its best but again based on the sensitivity of the optics instant on feature and the taking of 10+ minutes to turn off this feature seems to be a unnecessary feature. In conclusion I give this product a 3 based on Unadaptability/field performance/reliability and feature necessity.

To Olight: Thank you. Your attempt to make a unique optic is impressive and much appreciated while not perfect it’s a great start to being a leader in rechargeable optic technology I’d like to see and look forward to your next model hopefully with this review being taken in to consideration.
    Sincerely, Jindra.

I have long been the guy who gets tormented by the other guys in my squad for using OLight lights on my firearms and have yet to have been given a reason, by them or the products themselves, to stop and pay 4 times as much for a surefire. So when I saw OLight made a red dot I had to try it out.

It works great. I mounted it on my Echelon using the factory RMR pins with no issues and it’s rock solid. Zeroed @ 25m with less than 15 rounds and held for about 300 rounds no problem so far. The charging case is convenient and easy to use, shake awake works great, and the window is HUGE, like SRO or CMore huge. Some folks like that, some don’t, but I think it gets me on target faster while competing. I normally run an EOTech EFLX on the Echelon but I think the OLight is going to stay on there for a while, at least to see how it holds up after a couple of months and a few thousand rounds. I did drop the gun on concrete with the sight on it already and it didn’t have any issues.

  4. Kinny

I really liked this thing. Wide field of view, fit my FN 509 perfectly, and has one of the coolest charging methods out there.

Then my very first shot threw the red dot off by almost an 1/8”. I don’t understand how the red dot technology has been around for so long and yet only the really expensive sights can get it right. Is all the good tech for keeping these sights from moving under recoil patented?

Plus when I removed it the screws were super loose. The loctite doesn’t work and the screws provided are too short. I’m surprised it didn’t fly off the pistol. Another 50 rounds and it probably would have.

When Olight comes out with their 2nd or 3rd gens of this thing and people stop complaining about the drifting dot I will get another one. For now just had to return it.

Unboxing it, you will sure see that this optic is entering high end optic market. Sadly it didn’t work for my application on dove tail mounted optic plates. It is a bit larger than micro optics and that can work for some while others may mot prefer.

It is worth a try when looking into optics for price and function

Purpose of the weapon it’s mounted on is self defence/training.

TLDR: Good optic and innovative design

    The longer part.
I bought this because i wanted to try the new red dot “fad”. First impressions are good.

I did get a little frustrated because the windage and elevation were backwards (could also be I’m just stupid which is a non zero chance).
I was concerned about holding zero due to everything saying that was an issue. I put 300 rounds on the optic in about 4 hours and did not have an issue. Decided to see if I could get the zero to shift by racking the slide with the optic on the tailgate of my truck, smashing the optic on my holster, and a few other things I could think up. The sight held.

The charging system while a little wonky, is fantastic. I don’t need to rezero my weapon every time the battery gets low. Which means I’ll be more inclined to turn at the brightness needed not the lowest that will work.

The view is nice and big Ang I’ve had no issues put 300 rounds with my g 19 held zero and all
