I feel this a great bargain. It is solid and runs a consistent speed. There is an adjustment for 4 levels of cutting action and it comes with a base cover plate for cutting across fine materials and an anti splinter device that fits near the blade..

I have a lot of Makita 18v LXT tools.
At less than $150, I couldn’t resist adding this to my collection. Now I am wondering what I waited so long.
Over the years I have collected a number of 110v jig saws…they are all noisy, vibrate a lot and make cutting accurately a challenge.
This saw is the opposite of all those things. Plug in a 18v battery and you are ready to go. A quick release lever allows you to quick mount the required blade. You can select the cutting mode for a quick aggressive cut or precision cut with flick of a switch. The saw is easy to handle, accurate, and quiet. Now with no power cord that always seems to be in the way, I have found the only jigsaw that I need in my tool bag.

I used these saws at work, yacht joinery, loved them ,wanted one, but they are so expensive. I jumped at this because of the lower price.
Pro’s- great saw, but I haven’t used mine much yet, runs fine, sounds fine, plus I already had several batteries…
cons–the packaging showed that this saw seems to have been returned , the box was torn and retaped, at least no attempt to hide that it was probably returned. So I scrutinized it and found that the base plate wasn’t all that flat. Maybe Makita would swap that out? Anyway I put a little double stick tape in the one corner that was low under the plastic plate and that flattened it out well enough. For this much money I want it to be right and to cut square and not rock.
Most power tools take a little fine tuning. If this hadn’t been so easy I would have sent it back as well.
Cordless saws are great for boatbuilding and as a go to tool to grab and make a cut while you’d still be plugging the regular saw into an extension cord and then moving the extension cord etc etc. before even making the cut and then recoiling the cord etc etc.

Awesome tool – works as advertised and – well – you can’t beat Makita quality. Cuts like a hot knife thru butter – easy to use – may feel heavy if you are not use to battery powered hand tools – but – easy to get use to. Trigger control is smooth – accelerates smoothly , lighted work surface helps in fdark areas, blade interchange is easy – flip a tab open with your finger and insert blade. I saw negative comments on clear plastic blade guard – disregard those – if it does break its not needed!!!! I use tools daily and this is an awesome addition to my collection.

habia comprado este equipo pues tengo otros equipos makita inalambricos con sus respectivos cargadores y baterias.. mas sin embargo esta caladora funciona con otro tipo de bateria..y salia mas caro pedir la bateria y el cargador por separado que la misma caladora.. asi que hubo que devolver la compra..

Great tool, lots of power, cuts great, very comfortable.. Love it !! Have an old corded OG Bosch, which still works great, 35yrs later, but wanted to lose the cord and having plenty of Makita batteries decided on this one and couldn’t be happier.
