I am totally impressed with this cut off Tool, don’t expect to build the house with it 🙂 but for small jobs its perfect addition to your mini Home Depot place 🙂 I have 5 amp battery use it yesterday all day actually build one storage space 3 feet by 5 feet cut all wood necessary to make it and didn’t flinch.
Thank you Makita for great Tool Thank you Amazon for great price ….

The best purchase I make!!

Works well, but is difficult for me because the safety interlock button is designed for right handed users. Also, the saw overload protection trips often as it bogs down, very annoying. Another issue is it wont stand up on the battery, it just falls over. It must always be laid flat.

I do commercial maintenance, I use it to cut everything.
I got the Diablo mult blade. It cuts anything from cardboard to sheet metal.

Having tried the Milwaukee M12 cut off and being very disappointed, and after trying the DeWalt 20 volt cut off and being disappointed once again not by the power but more so the terrible build quality in general, I finally took a stab at a Makita, and I have zero regrets, this has around the power level of a cheap pneumatic cut off, but anything more than that is not required because at that point you should just be using an angle grinder, amazingly handy tool!

Works very well and is very easy to control. If you don’t have a good stationary cutoff saw, this is way faster and more precise than an angle grinder. I found it easier to use than a cheap 14” cutoff saw as well. Only complaint is that after use for a bit it does turn itself off frequently. Perhaps they all do this? I didn’t shop around because I’m already in the Makita “ecosystem.” I would absolutely recommend a cutoff saw like this to anyone considering one. But again I think whether one gets the Makita or another brand depends on what battery system you already have, preference for corded or cordless, etc.

Great small grinder and my new go to over the 4.5” hand grinder

Small and light, the Dewalt is probably more powerful , but you can get this Makita in thight places and it cuts 20 ga. Very quickly.
