I was looking for a portable fire pit to carry on the roof rack of my SUV on backcountry camping trips in the desert. I was able to secure it well on the roof rack with a smaller size elastic cargo net. It was large enough for standard size 16″ firewood and even oversized pieces burnt just fine albeit they stuck out a little above the rim as shown in the picture. It performed as advertised with the exception that most of the ashes did not fall to the pan below as it seemed to imply they would from the product pictures. This was not a problem though as it was easy enough to dump the ashes out of the upper section as well. It burned very efficiently once it got going with very little smoke and ash left over. It feels and looks durable and I’m confident it will last for several years if stored in a dry place. As shown in the picture, it worked well for roasting hot dogs over the fire. My only wish was that there was a lid available so that it could be quickly covered in the event it started to rain on an already ongoing fire in order to keep the firewood and ashes dry until the weather cleared up. Just a thought.

I didn’t know what to expect from this given its price, but it’s actually well built with non-magnetic stainless steel…with ‘style’. Will it dent or bend if you drop it? YES….but you should expect that. The conical shape of it does make it hard to grab. I may make some stainless wire loops through the top interior vents to create grab points to lift when cool.

The unit is surprisingly compact in its bag and is an almost perfect size when assembled for use. 4 to maybe 6 people could get up close and intimate with this fire pit.

If you are looking for a lid, the fire pits top OD is 19 inches. I found the Hisencn Fire Pit Lid for Solo Stove Bonfire 1.0 & 2.0-19.5″ Stainless Steel Cover, which has an ID of 19.5 inches , leaving you with only .25 inches of slop from side to side. It is also non-magnetic stainless steel and is well-constructed. Just flip the EAST OAK Fuoco smokeless fire pit TOP RING over, and you are good to go.

Rather than buying and storing a log splitter, I plan on burning cheap wood pellets. If they don’t work out, I’ll update this review.

When dumping ash…it might be a good idea to run a piece of blue painters’ tape over the outside bottom vents to prevent ash leaks while dumping. I mean…nobody likes it when their ash leaks….Right?

So far, I’m pleased with what I see…just not crazy about the travel bag.

Update: Wood pellets burn quite well in this. Maybe too well. Initially I put in around 5 pounds of pellets. Once they got started, everyone needed to back away from the fire pit. It was pretty intense.

Here’s the bad news, the pellets burn extremely HOT and FAST. Be prepared to keep feeding the beast. Don’t wait until the flames die out…otherwise there’s gonna be a LOT of smoke (and I do mean a LOT… as it smolders) Once the flames start back up, the smoke will dissipate. There might be a trick or learners’ curve to using pellets.

Overall, I have no complaints, and the painters tape trick worked.

Was looking for a portable fire pit but didn’t want to break the bank and some of these were pushing $200-$300! I must admit, I’m not one to buy a knock off of a successful brand or things made in China for the most part but I couldn’t pass up this lil guy and pretty glad I didn’t! I had a bunch of fire wood I had cut down last year and it was ready for burning so we purchased this gem.
I just piled some dry brush on the bottom and then stacked 8-12″ logs in a circular fashion around the brush in a conical fashion then lit her up!
The ticket is having a torch to get it going and once it does, look out! There’s a point where it just starts burning like crazy and the flame patterns are mesmerizing, especially when the come through the air vents on the top.
Love thing so far and it’s well worth the money! It’s well constructed too but yes it’s made in China and it’s still a knock off of a Solo….

This is a wonderful fire pit. 20 inch allows for great length firewood and it heats well. It was used over the Christmas holidays for family and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had purchased a small Solo stove months ago and loved it. It was too small for a larger group of people so I started researching bigger fire pits. I finally settle on this one and I’m so glad I did. We have used it at least twice a week for a month or so and it’s been great. Very smokeless, puts out great heat, and very little ash left in the tray at the end of the night. It is one of the best purchases I’ve made from Amazon and I will use it as much as possible before the season changes.

The stove looked great and was easy to assemble. It stove provided a nice smokeless fire once it was at full tilt. As you can see in the video, the vents on the top inside were doing their job. I am pleased with my purchase. I just couldn’t see my self paying $250 plus for a fire pit. I read a few reviews and bit the bullet.
It does exactly what I expected so, for the $140 that I spent, I can’t complain.
