Just now installed this on my super redhawk and zeroed it in at 50 yds printing 2″ groups. Clean optics and perfect magnification for up to 100 yds and still have a wide FOV and quick sight acquisition. We’ll see how it holds up to 44 mag recoil, my last Simmons scope lasted about 1000 rounds before the tube was deformed.

Great scope for the serious handgun hunter, long-range handgunner, or scout rifle shooter. Eye relief, even at 12x is about perfect for me. Flawless finish, amazing optics. The only thing missing from this optic is decent adjustment turrets. They are finger adjustable and the clicks are distinct and audible, but target-type turrets would have been much more useful. At this price that should have been a standard feature. And the way they’re marked make it all but impossible to return to a previous setting without counting clicks. The marked divisions are pretty much useless. My biggest gripe is Burris’ love of using dark green markings on the power and parallax rings. This is typical for most Burris scopes. The markings should be a contrasting color, like white, for quick setting and reference. Other than those two items and the price, a wonderful pistol/scout scope.

I bought this for my son. He is an active hunter and very unhappy with the quality of the scope. It is not what he had hoped it would be. There is no magnification at all, only cross hairs. His attempts to contact the company have been difficult. There are many phone numbers and a long waiting line of calls ahead. When he finally did get through, the phone system re-routed him back to the beginning, still not allowing him to talk with an individual. Finally, when he did get to speak with someone, they refused to return the scope even though it appears to be defective with no magnification. This was an expensive scope and this is not how I anticipated being treated by Burris. My son used to sell scopes when employed by Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare MI. Thought he had a good brand and company when we ordered this. We were wrong.

I have several of these Burris handgun scopes and they are a quality optic that hold up very well on heavy recoil handguns. This one also had a great price on amazon when I bought it several months ago.

I bought it for my Ruger Red Hawk put it on and sighted it in. Great glass very clear. 4 shot group at 51 yards

  6. Dan P.

A fantastic scope for my Ruger Super Redhawk. Eye relief and clarity are top notch. But … comes without any lens caps, at all, leaving my scope with glass exposed to the air and dust. Not a good feature.

  7. crystal baez

Mounted perfect on my Rossi R92 and has perfect eye relief for scout rifles.

  8. Janet Fenton

This scope replaced a cheap 4X LER scope on my Ruger Scout. With normal ball ammo, I was holding 2 MOA at a hundred yards. Now, with the same ball ammo, I am holding between 0.75 MOA and 1MOA at 100 yards. To say I’m happy is an understatement. With the adjustable power, I have a lot more versatility when using the Scout. I’m not shy any more in taking long-range shots. If the target is within 500 yards, the odds are greatly increased that I will be able to knock whatever it is down.

As for durability, I’ve only put 150 rounds of 7.62/.308 downrange, so I can’t really comment on how well it’s going to hold up.

  9. Amazon Customer

I’ve owned Burris 3×12 handgun scopes for more than 30 years because they work flawlessly and they offer great magnification along with an adjustable objective for proper focusing.
