Short review:
If you are looking for a smokeless portable fire pit, this is it. Small and mighty, it’s exactly what I needed.
Long review:
I had been intrigued by the Solo brand for a while, but have always hated moving a big firepit around or leaving it out all winter, only to rust and fall apart. So, dropping a bunch of money on a firepit was a tough pill to swallow.
I did see that Solo makes a “portable” model but it still looks huge, bulky, and cost over $200!
Then I found this little guy. It’s perfect, packs down small so I can use it at home, camping, or just about anywhere and it doesn’t take up a ton of space. The other issue I’ve had with fires is the amount of effort to start and maintain the fire, then to have to babysit it for hours. Now I can throw a couple cups of pellets in this thing and get about a 30 min fire with ease. Enjoy a fire and a drink, then done. So simple!
If you read the reviews, like I did, some people have issues, but some of the complaints are positives for me. Personally I’m extremely happy with this fire pit, checked all the boxes and then some.

Blue Sky Ridge Fire Pit is small but mighty. My husband and I own a propane fire table, which it great. And we also have a log burning kettle style fire pit, which is good but is messy and once it gets going lasts way too long and you feel for all the effort you need a few people over to enjoy it. SO, I wanted something small, easy to start and would burn for about an hour. This little pit puts out a lot of heat! The first time we used it we liked it so much we lit two separate fires in one night. The flames progression is really interesting also and is pretty much smoke free and not much ash to dump. Make sure you have it on concrete or brick the base gets really hot! When this one wears out we will definitely get another one.

Arrived today, simple 2 piece assembly, just add wood pellet and fire gel to start, 5mins later FIRE! Only fill to level slots for efficient burn, minimal ash very hot and small smoke initially. Secondary burn is smokeless. One load burns for 30mins, you can top up but I wanted to see base burn time. Shipped from USA arrived safely.

This is a great little fire pit. It’s portable, comes in its own bag and can be used to have a fire in a few different ways.
We enjoy a small fire and a nightcap at the end of the evening. If you fill the pit to the fill line and start the fire with a fire starter you will have a hot, smoke free fire for 30 minutes followed by a gradual decline until the fire completely out at around an hour. You can extend this time by adding more pellets to the fire but be careful to only add a solo cup of pellets at a time or you run the risk of smoking everything out. You can also add firewood as the only fuel or as an additional fuel to the fire. Remember to keep it within the kettle or it will smoke.
I purchased a 40 lb. bag of wood pellets from Home Depot for about $16 and got 8 fires out of it. This is much more affordable for the fires we have than purchasing firewood. And it is more portable. 20 lbs. of pellet fit in a 5 gallon container.
I recommend to putting about half the recommended pellets in the pit to start the fire and try to leave the center with fewer pellets to help with the airflow until the fire gets started.
It is not stainless steel. It tends to have a little surface rust and of course the soot gets everywhere but I think it is easy to wash off. I am confident with care this will last for many years.
I recommend this for anyone who wants the affordable portability of a fire ring and is happy with a warm fire that will burn for more than half an hour without any attending.
If you follow the directions and fill it to the fill line you will have a nice hot fire for about 30 minutes and by the hour the only thing left is a few embers. It is perfect for us. I did play around with it and you can sustain the fire by adding additional pellets. Only load the pellets about a solo cup at a time or you run the risk of smoking everything out until the fire

This is a really good product that does exactly what it says. It is pricey, but I’m glad I paid out. Run this whilst camping and there is no smoke and no smell. I got a 10kg bag of pellets and have used the pit for around 4 hours having used about half a bag, so if you were using for multiple days and hours you will need a few sacks of fuel, but it’s cheap

I was looking for a Solo-like campfire pit as a gift for my daughter and found the BlueSky product. It is the same size as the other brand for almost half the cost. Plus it compacts down and comes with a carry bag.
The only reason I gave it four stars is because the paint on the outside of the fire pit peeled off in large patches after the first burn. It was obvious the metal had not been primed properly because the paint peeled down to the bare metal. I called to see if the paint peeling was a warrantied item and was told it is not. Oh well, the fire pit works really well and in time I will refinish it with high-temp paint.
As you can see in the photos this fire pit works great. It only smokes for a few minutes when it is starting up.
To start the fire pit I add four heaping 16 oz Red SOLO cups of pellets. Then I squirt some lighter fluid on top of the pellets and lite it up. It takes about five minutes for the fire to completely stop smoking and look like the fire in the photo.
To keep the fire going, I keep a bucket of pellets next to my chair. As the fire burns down I dump another cup full of pellets into the fire pit. I will try to dump the pellets in a spot that is next to the most flame but not on top of the flame. It will smoke for a minute but then the fire stabilizes again into a nice smokefree fire.
I like this fire pit so much I bought one for myself and will mod it so I can fit a propane burner in it. That way I can use it in areas with a wood fire burn ban.

The fire pit is easy to use and the fire became smokelss very quickly. Start the fire with fire pellets and you can add fire woods as the fire build up (just the way I use it).
