I have a brushed unit to compare and so far, this brushless unit seems to cut better. I cut 2 x 12s and only tried on the 2 x 6 so far. I also have a dewault 14.4 that cuts better than the brushed ryobi 18v brushed csaw. So trying this brushless to see if it can handle cuts better than my 14.4 dewalt. I recently bought a lithium 14.4 battery and will be seeing if it can match the brushless ryobi 18 here…. Need more time to see how many cuts I get on both units. The dewalt is overall smaller and but the Ryobi can cut up to 2.25 inchs while the dewalt cuts up to 1 7/8 inch thick material……So lets see how both units pan out……The dewault 14.4 is heavier, even with lithium battery, but more compact.

Purchased this to cut wood for a deck that I was fixing. I was cutting rather large pieces of wood, 2×12’s and 2×6’s. I found the saw to be a little underpowered from the corded saws that I’ve used my entire life. I also ran through many more batteries than what thought I would on not many cuts. I’m going to assume the average cuts Ryobi says this will do is probably based on 1x pieces of wood.. The the ease of use and weight of the saw made this purchase well worth it. I’d trade a little power for being able to transport the saw wherever I wanted without lugging a huge saw and cord around.
Overall I’ll give the item 4 stars. Dinged it for poor life on batteries and a little underpowered.

It’s a nice light little saw. I have all the other saws but when I don’t want or need to haul out the big stuff its awesome !

muy buena para el tamaño que tiene. Recomiendo hacer cortes longitudinales haciendo la técnica de ir bajando el disco poco a poco para no forzar el motor. El freno que tiene esta maquina es bastante bueno al momento de dejar de apretar el gatillo.

I picked up this little saw after I gave my mom an older version of this tool. Did I lament its loss so much I needed another? Of course. Did I contemplate going to the dark side and getting a Dewalt? Also yes. However, since my saw’s predecessor was so reliable I figured I’d stick to the tried and true. This tool has done great on my home renovations and hasn’t failed me yet. It’s also come in rather handy cutting small branches for kindling for winter prep.

Is a powerful saw for just 18 volt battery, and much better than non hp saw. But it fits need the larger amp and hp battery to have full power I believe.
Is a bit slow to get up to speed but for the most part had enough power to get through pressure treated 2x4s without struggle.
