Until recently I’ve been a user of a certain green brand of tools I’ve bought from the orange bix box store. I was frustrated by their lack of power and a variety of other issues. Perhaps upgrading them to better versions might have helped, but every tool I used left me feeling like there had to be a significant difference between my tools and the more expensive options out there.
A few years ago I had the good fortune to use a coworker’s Makita screwdriver. I was really impressed by how smooth it operated and how well the torque stop worked without overtightening. I’ve never quite forgotten the impression I had and I’ve recently started upgrading some of my tools as I’ve gotten serious about some woodworking and home improvement projects. I short time back I bought the driver and power screwdriver, and I love them both.
Now I bought this circular saw along with a couple of Makita saw tracks, and they have revolutionized my woodworking experience. The saw has an abundance of power and I’ve been really impressed with how long the batteries last. Apparently having 2 batteries makes a huge difference! No longer do I have to wonder how many times the saw will jam up and stop when I’m cutting a 4’x8′ piece of plywood. I can make a full 8′ cut without any issues. And the guide tracks are so much easier to use and more accurate than the old jigs that I built myself.
I can’t say enough good things about this saw and the other Makita tools I’ve bought. They aren’t cheap, but I highly recommend them to anyone that can afford them!

I bought this together with the Powertec track and clamps and could not be happier. I previously used a Kreg jig with a Skilsaw and could never make true, straight cuts. With this, I get straight, square cuts with minimal effort. There is a learning curve with this kind of saw – the workholding is very different since you need to clamp it to the track – do your research and watch some videos if this is a new experience for you. That said, specific to this saw, it has everything I had hoped for: it cleanly ejects dust into the hose port, is not crazy loud, has solid, accurate angle adjustments, and the battery life is amazing. Definitely worth the extra money for the flexibility battery gives you. Would easily buy this again if needed.

This saw already has enough great reviews. I don’t need to repeat everything that has already been said. So I’ll simply say that the saw is well built, the cut quality is excellent and the fit on the Makita tracks is great. The included cases are a nice touch. And I am blown away by how well the track sticks to a surface. I have not felt the need to clamp yet.
I use makita tools, so this was a no brainier for me when I wanted a track saw. If I wasn’t married to Makita, I may still get this one. I believe this is the best value among the current lineup of “good” track saws.

I did a lot of research and decided to go with this Track saw. It cuts 3/4 plywood like butter. It is easy to set up and cut material. Glad I bought this saw.
I have 56 sheets of 3/4 plywood to cut. This saw last all day cutting. It never once slowed down. It is a great saw and I’ve had it for a few months and I’m still glad I got it.

Excelente máquina. Como toda máquina nueva de precisión hay que hacerle algunos ajustes para que haga su trabajo bien…la recomiendo en un 100%

I really like this tool. It is very versatile and well made. Fantastic and easy to use. Don’t know how I got by without this for so many years. There are many accessories available for this as well. Would definitely purchase again.

This is just a really nice saw. I read all the reviews and watched the videos by different people. If you want to cut sheet wood products for any precision work, this is the thing you want. I don’t know if it’s a replacement for a table saw as some have claimed, but for working with 2’x2′ to 4’x8′ 1/4 to 3/4 plywood, it’s the perfect tool. That may sound specialized, and I guess it is, but that’s what a lot of cabinetry and projects are built with.
I was hesitant on battery power, but much easier than the cord, and with 2 batteries it has plenty of power. I’m using a non-M brand track, and that’s fine, too. Blade that comes with it is more than good. If it dulls I’ll try to replace with the same. It makes a splinter free mirror smooth cut when new….will see how it holds up, but being name brand and carbide I expect it to be fine.
