Smart. Portable. Powerful. The Bose portable smart speaker is a wireless home speaker, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and a voice-controlled speaker, all in one. And no matter what you listen to or where, you’ll hear it all in 360 degrees of astonishing Bose sound.

I purchased a the Bose Portable Home Speaker on May 6, 2020 and use it almost daily both inside and outside of my home. The carry handle and optional wireless charger make very easy to move around the house and yard.
Pro’s:
-Great sound in a small package. It is very loud and has solid bass.
-360 degree sound is great for outdoors.
-Built-in Alexa works great.
-Wifi works great as long as you are not too far away from your router.
-Carry handle is great for moving it around. We mostly use ours outdoor by the pool by hanging it on a shepherd hook.
-Solid build quality. Does not look for feel cheap.
-We bought the black version as we were worried the white one would get dirty (specifically the carry handle) by bringing it outdoors.
Con’s:
-It is only water resistant, NOT waterproof. So if you use this outside, make sure it does not fall in your pool, or get left outside in a bad rain storm, etc.
-Battery Life. There is absolutely no way it lasts 12 hours especially when using it with wifi. At 50% volume, with a very good wifi signal, I am only able to get maybe 6-7 hours of use. I was really hoping to get at least 10 hours or more, but that seems completely impossible. Bose should have built this with a bigger battery.
-You need a fairly strong wifi signal. Once you bring this outside, you can’t go very far before you lose the wifi signal. Our is located about 30-40 feet from our router and it occasionally loses signal. It will cut out for a few a minutes, then usually comes back on.
-The Alexa microphone works pretty good, but no where near as good as an actual Alexa Echo device. We often have to shout at it for it to hear us, especially if music is playing.
-The optional wireless charging pad should be included at such a high price point. Having to pay an additional $30 was annoying, but it does work very well and is a must have in my opinion.
-Price. Although it is a very high quality, great sounding speaker I am not sure it was worth $349 +$29 for the wireless charging pad. There are competitors out there was are almost as good for about half the price, specifically Ultimate Ears Mega Blast which is a close 2nd in my opinion for sound and build quality.
Overall, very happy with this product and I hope it lasts a long time.

Very nice speaker. I bought it because i hate anything with power cords and this speaker is really portable. I have taken it to the beach and it does well outside. It also entirely fills up the room indoors. I dont know how but it does. Depends on where it is located. Very satisfied. Great speaker.

It is pretty awesome I love the way it sounds, the only thing is sometimes it gets disconnected from the internet and you have to set it up again

At first, it was annoying that I had to figure out features and ON/OFF settings on my own by searching the web and finally coming across bose.com/support/phs (which was very helpful). The product did not ship with a manual.
I finally figured out how to turn off the annoying voice prompts when connected/disconnected from a device. (which if I couldn’t, this review would have been a 3 star.
We use it as an additional speaker for our Google Home, which is another great feature. You can turn the mic on/off as well as the assistant. I like that I don’t have to worry about accidental splashes, due to its water-resistance feature.
It took a while to figure out how to get it connected to my desktop and interchange it to my phone because, again, it did not come with a manual.
FANTASTIC sound & bass (which is adjustable through the Bose app. Easy to carry with it’s fabric-like, flexible handle. 100% Bose quality sound and materials. Great charge. Product description says 12 hours of playback for battery-life. I haven’t pushed it to that limit yet, but the battery does seem to last forever.
Overall, great for home use. I also use it in my garage to workout.

This Bose speaker is amazing! Admittedly, it is on the expensive side, but the sound you get is worth it. You would never believe the amount of bass you can get out of such a small, portable speaker. I have no complaints about it. I took it to the park a couple times this summer and it has plenty of volume even for outdoor applications. You can’t go wrong with this if you’re looking for something portable with great sound.

Initially I tried out the Bose Revolve+ and found myself thoroughly disappointed. Sound was good, bass was mediocre but it didn’t get very loud. The Revolve+ has great battery life however. Not to mention the $299 price point – unfortunately my expectations were not met.
Soon after I stumbled upon the Bose Portable Home Speaker, just released in Sept of 2019. It was only $50 more than the Revolve+ so I picked one up. The difference was immediate and clear – this was the sound I was looking for! Compared to the Bose Portable Home Speaker, the Revolve+ bass is almost nonexistent.
I believe Bose crammed an additional passive radiator into this speaker, for a total of three whereas the Revolve+ only has two. The difference is substantial. Needless to say I returned the Revolve+ and couldn’t be happier with the BHP.
My main complaint is the inability to have 2 devices paired up simultaneously. The speaker is advertised with this capability, yet whoever wants to pair up needs to have the Bose Music app installed on their phone, and even then, one of the devices is getting disconnected/booted before the other one can play. It’s not very intuitive, however I feel an update could easily solve this issue.
Secondly, there’s no Google Play support as of yet. I find this mind boggling considering Spotify, Prime Music, Pandora, iHeart, Deezer, TuneIn and Sirius are all supported! Please Bose, tighten up and add Google Play support ASAP.
